Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375F/190C.
  2. Combine dry ingredients. 
  3. Cut butter and shortening into the flour.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk cream with the egg.
  5. Pour egg into the flour and mix to combine.
  6. Roll out dough on a floured surface and use a biscuit cutter to form the scones.
  7. Place scones on a greased baking sheet and bake 15 minutes, or until golden-brown.
