Yeast Dinner Rolls

I have finally found the perfect yeast dinner roll! These were absolutely delicious. Buttery, fluffy, and absolutely perfect with the Thanksgiving turkey.

  • 1 cup milk whole , warmed
  • 115 grams butter , room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sugar granulated
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 7 grams active dry yeast
  • egg wash (beaten plus a splash of milk)
  • sea salt for garnish


  • Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in the bowl of a standmixer. Allow the yeast to rest 10 minutes.
  • Add butter, eggs, salt, and flour and mix with the paddle attachment.
  • Allow the wet dough to sit 10 minutes. 
  • With the dough hook, knead the dough on medium speed for 10 minutes. The dough should climb up the hook. 
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover lightly with a towel. Rest until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375F/190C.
  • Punch down the dough and divide into 15 even balls. 
  • Place dough balls in a 9x13 baking pan and brush lightly with egg wash. Sprinkle with sea salt, if desired. 
  • Cover with a towel and allow to proof 15-30 minutes. 
  • Place pan in the oven and bake about 15 minutes, until the tops are golden brown.
